Me: Now it’s time to buy dark souls!
Car: No, actually it’s time to buy a new battery.
Me: Who said that? Ahh, whatever. *Gets in car, Turns key, nothing happens* ...goddamnit.

nothing at all happened? no solenoid click, no trying to start? Do your dash lights come on? It might not be the battery.

There’s enough power to light up that dumb ‘your doors are open’ light, but turn on any thing else (headlights, interior lights, etc) and the power goes away. It’s an old battery, it’s time was up anyway.

Can I interest you in purchasing jumper cables while you’re getting a battery too?

The pre-purchase inspection on my car turned up a low battery, and when it arrived here on the transporter it was giving me a warning message about the battery. I hooked it up to my battery tender overnight, the next morning the little green “fully charged” light on the tender was on. The warning message hasn’t come back but I figure it’s only so long before I’ll need to buy a battery.

My battery died last week. In so doing, it also caused an error in the TCM, so once I got the battery jumped I had to limp everywhere in no higher than second gear.
In Texas.
Where everything is a bajillion miles away.
Eventually got a new battery and got the TCM flashed, which set things to rights again, but come on! What awful design! What if I had *really* been stuck in the middle-of-nowhere Texas where the nearest town is more than 100+ miles away? It would’ve sucked covering all that distance at 30mph.

My T-bird went through three separate batteries before I found the short in the electrics (cable shorting on the frame), so I can relate to that annoying feeling of turning the key and nothing happening. Got really good at push starting the car by myself.
